Dear Colleagues,

Greetings! In this week’s digital digest, you will find five papers, all of which are in a broad area of PEMFCs. I would like to draw your attention to the following article.

High-performance PEMFCs, 1.1 W/cm2, based on a hydrocarbon, non-fluorous electrolyte. A communication reporting an all-hydrocarbon PEMFC, consisting of sulfonated phenylated poly(phenylene) used both as the membrane and the catalyst layer binder, which exhibits the maximum power density of 1.1 W/cm2 and 1.2 A/cm2 at 0.6V. Table I provided a comparison of all-hydrocarbon PEMFCs with various ionomer contents in the catalyst layer, benchmarking with Nafion 211. The highest performance was observed with 15 wt% ionomer in the catalyst layer, attributed to the balance between sufficient ionomer content for proton conductivity and sufficient void space for reactant transfer (Contact author: Steven Holdcroft at holdcrof@sfu.ca)

I would like to thank all reviewers for their insightful comments which made the following publications possible.

With my best wishes!

It is difficult to focus on events in the near future while the world is concentrating on the daily challenges regaining stability. In recognition of this and the continuing disruption caused by the COVID-19 outbreak, the abstract submission deadline for PRiME 2020 has been extended to May 29, 2020.
